The first season of this anthology drama takes place in the 1950s, and follows a black family who have moved from North Carolina to an all-white neighborhood in Los Angeles during the period known as The Great Migration.

But their idyllic home on Palmer Drive is not what it appears, and becomes a hot spot for malevolent forces - next door and otherworldly - to taunt, ravage and threaten to destroy them.
