Events planner-turned-women's prison governor Laura Willis documents all the antics going on at the HMP Woldsley female prison during a six-week period during which the inmates rehearse a musical directed by ex-Eastender's star Cheryl Fergison.
Rehearsals bring an oddball collection of women together as they find their voices, grow their confidence, and improve their friendships.
