Stede Bonnet is an 18th century aristocrat who trades in his comfortable life for one of a buccaneer. As the captain of a pirate ship, he struggles to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew. But his fortunes change after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard.

Fun show about a real idiot pirate ,who ended up hung. Sad to see this cancelled

This is not the typical show I’d usually watch but kept seeing it appear in HBO top shows so clicked play. I got hooked pretty quickly. The fact that it’s based on real characters made me like it even more. Haven’t finished season 2 yet, it seems season one is the standout. But let’s hope it continues for a few more years of these comedic stories.

Why hasn't HBO renewed this yet!?! It's brilliant, the cast is amazing and the sets and scenes are awesome. I really hope they bring this back as we'd like to see more of the story lines.
