Cootie is a young Black man living in Oakland, California who happens to be 13 feet tall. He grew up hidden away, passing the time by reading comic books and watching TV.
One day he escapes to experience the beauty and contradictions of the outside world, allowing him to form friendships, find love, navigate awkward situations, and encounter his idol, the real-life superhero named The Hero.
