The USA legal drama will return for a second season.
May 2, 2011
USA Network has announced that freshman series Fairly Legal has been renewed for a second season. This renewal has been expected for a couple of weeks now - the first clue coming when the network included lead star Sarah Shahi on the guest list for their upfront presentation scheduled for today.
Fairly Legal follows a San Francisco lawyer who changes careers to become a mediator. The series premiered on January 20 of this year on USA and aired 10 first-season episodes, averaging a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49. It was also the top new cable drama launch of the year in that same demographic.
Season 2 will increase the episode count to 13, with production set to begin this summer. No date has been set for the second-season premiere, but it is expected to kick off during the first quarter of 2012. Word is the creative direction of the show could change in hopes of drawing more viewers to the legal drama.

Are you crazy to cancel this show? this is one of my most favorite USA shows and was building on great story lines for all the cast. Kate is a very strong female lead who has a great sense of right and fairness. Women need strong female leads who offer young ladies something to aspire to.
Please let us know what we can do to save this show. Put it behind another of the real favorites like Burn Notice or White Collar, that would give it a huge lead in. Was doing great before it was moved to Friday night.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show.

I look foward to seeing Fairly Legal. I enjoyed it the first season when it was scheduled on a Wednesday night. I like to see it in the middle of the week instead of on Friday's. I always made sure I stayed home on Friday nights until my show was over :o) I am so ready to see Season 3...please renew the contract
