NBC has ordered more episodes of the freshman sitcom.
October 4, 2011
NBC announced today that it has given a full season order to new comedy Whitney. The show is only two episodes into its freshman run, earning an impressive 3.3 adults 18-49 rating in its premiere before falling to a 2.5 for its second episode.
Also picked up by the network today was Christina Applegate's new sitcom Up All Night. Notably absent from the announcement was struggling newcomer Free Agents, which is a likely candidate for cancellation in the near future.

The show Whitney is completely unrealistic and annoying...yes I know it's "a tv show", but even for a tv show it's more unrealistic than the usual.
When Whitney Cumming's does stand up, she says mean things about men but you can tell that she's at least saying what she truly thinks. In this show, she plays the OPPOSITE, she's an unrealistic character that likes sex and trys to be what us guys would think of as "appealing."
For example, in her stand up she's said things like...men want sex more than women because all women are beautiful and men are disgusting...and she has made fun of doing nurse roleplay for sex and said it was stupid.......................
Yet in the show, she says to her boyfriend that she wants to have sex more, and uses quotes like, "c'mon, why aren't we tapping this." She went out and bought and nurse costume for sex roleplay....and then said to a person in the store, "I'm just trying to get laid". .............IT'S SO OBVIOUS SHE'S TRYING TO BE A CHARACTER THAT MEN LIKE AND IT'S SOOOO UNREALISTIC, IT'S STUPID.
First of all, phrases like "tapping this" and "getting laid" are guy things. And when she said that men like sex more than women in her stand up....for the most part she's right..............IT'S A GUY THING!!!
She's just trying to get more attention, and it's annoying, not to mention her character is a jerk that rants about everything and she somehow thinks that's funny.

The first episode was really funny but all the rest have been disappointing. Funny moments but kinda dry and stale.

I actually really enJoyed this show. I think her humor is very honest and genuine. I admit it's no 30 Rock but I'm left wanting to watch more episodes. Perhaps it's a mid twenties woman thing but I can definitely identify with the characters.

I'd set my Tivo for Free Agents last week and got this instead. I managed 15 or so minutes and had to turn it off...it's horrible. The characters are all unlikable and most important, NOT FUNNY.

Worst show in TV. Not funny at all, and now the writers are stealing from Community. Stop warching crap and it leaves. Or Tyler Perry slaps his name on it and it moves to TBS.

So glad to hear it. The show is so funny. They play well of each other and she's brilliant. I laugh the entire time.

Whitney Cummings has stated in multiple interviews that the show does not use a laugh track. The laughs heard, according to her, are from the live studio audience.

For all the hype this show just stinks. It's not funny. And what's with the laugh track. Ugh. We cannot stand this show and will not watch it again.

Hope it gets funnier. So far it's just stale and horrible.
