Fox has cancelled new drama Alcatraz, which premiered earlier this year in January as a mid-season replacement. The series got off to a solid start in the ratings, but viewership dropped off significantly over the course of its 13 episodes. The show's last four episodes rated a series low 1.6 in the key adults 18-49 demographic, which was clearly not enough for Fox to bring back the series.
Also cancelled by Fox today was freshman drama The Finder.

I live in San Francisco and saw the preview for the show in January before it started. I loved the show and got hooked. This is such a disappointment. Like others want to know is how the 63's came back? We don't even get to find now. Alcatraz being cancelled is like the TV ModernFamily being cancelled. You get hooked then the stupid TV companies take away the show. FOX can atleast let us know what actually happened. This is a huge disappointment.

Unbelievable another good series taken off by idiots who do not have an idea what people want, so it fell off towards the end of the series in the US what about other countries, and I like most of the working world video or watch through other mediums because they have commitments on the nite!!stop buying the reality shows assuming people have low IQ's and the retention span of a gnat we want shows with substance and this was certainly one of them - hope one of the other tv co's buys the idea.

I enjoyed this show and a few other that are being cancelled way too soon. You have no idea how irritating it is that year after year they cancel interesting shows that you are just getting into. It is getting to the point that I don’t bother watching TV much any more because all that seems to be surviving are mindless reality shows.

Now we will never know what happens to Rebecca and how the "63's" got here I agree with the comment of the fact that tv companies don't understand and get their watchers and people just don't have time to watch tv on the nights the show is acctuallly on.

I watched this through and it was poor, a wasted premise. Fox have every right to cancel shows that do not perform a 1.6 from 13 episode is bad. The netword isn't a charity

This was one of the best shows on T.V., great cast and unlike most of the tripe out there had lots of room to grow within the basic premise of the show. BRING IT BACK, FOX!

What the heck.....another one cancelled!! I just saw the river was cancelled, and now this one!!! Unbelievable....just goes to show you we are again going to be left with crap reality shows!! They were such a breath of fresh air against the usuall and mundane cop shows and hospital shows and the reality shows. What are you guys thinking. I wonder if they take into account the online viewers from places like Hulu, which is where I watch my shows because I can rarely watch them on their scheduled nights.

I'm so upset!!! I loved watching this show. It was something my son and I enjoyed watching. Really sad FOX did this. Always about numbers.... Out of 13 episodes it held strong then dropped the last 4!! Really...what was on TV at that time people didn't watch? Hope they bring it back!!

It is really a shame that FOX cancelled this show! I don't know who decides which shows to cancel but you messed up cancelling this one! Hopefully another network will pick it up. I will stop watching FOX.
