The cop drama ends after five seasons.
May 10, 2013
TNT has cancelled Southland after five seasons on the air. The cop drama got its start in 2009 on NBC, where it was originally axed after its first season. TNT stepped in and acquired the rights to the existing episodes, eventually renewing the show and keeping it on the air for three additional seasons.

Absolutely gutted by this one. And to end it on basically a cliffhanger? Ugh, TNT, BAD DECISION. Southland was a brilliant show.

Sorry to see it go. This was a show that I enjoyed very much. Again the mucky mucks running the networks have struck again. How sad. MKL

now this is terrible news... quite possibly my favorite show on TV. I can see how it would be hard to support that level of production costs on a network like TNT, but still... very, very sad news.
