I just read that the 2 hour movie, which I think they owe us, is a no go. I feel so unappreciated and violated. But, I have found a series called Borgia on Netflix and it is, in my opinion, just as good as SHO version, if not better. Plus it has so many more details, events and happenings that were left out of this one, making it worth watching from the beginning. Also, they are in preproduction for their 3rd and final year. So, they have the courtesy to plan ahead and use the last season to wrap things up. I'm thinking of dropping SHO for this and just renting their series from Netflix. Since I'm already paying for Netflix, this would save me money too.

I am so upset. I love this show. I am very disappointed SHO would cancel it without a proper ending. I have always felt safe in watching series on the pay channels, because, till now, I have never known them to abruptly end a series. This, to me, was what made pay channels worth the extra money and superior to the network series that leave people hanging, without closure, all the time. Shame on Showtime and I hope that HBO,Starz and Cinemax don't start playing cheap tricks on it's audience also. Especially since they depend on us pay extra money to watch them.

To all those that commented about the historical inaccuracies of the show citing such as 'the Borgias were very evil people' you need to take step back and remember this show was a drama not a documentary and had a ton of embellishments to the established story of the dynasty.
Besides that, the 'history' of the Borgias was effectively written by all those who were against them so is likely to have been mostly made-up to condemn them.
Anyone who wants to know what would have happened next should check out the Borgia family member pages on wikipedia (which details was is known about them is laregely historical conjecture) but the really interesting stuff is the way the Milanese Sforza dynasty went on to seed most of the royal dynastys of Europe.
Perhaps they should have made a show about them instead?

I really loved this show. I felt like the likeness of the characters were the same as the people they protrayed. I think people should research their history before concluding they were the first crime family. They were part of the history of the catholic church. I am tired of paying for bad T.V. and they take good shows like the Borgias off the air.

It was not really historically accurate, but I found it entertaining and well acted. It dragged sometimes, and the loss of the Juan Borgia character took a lot away from the final season IMO. Not a bad show, I wish they could have given it a proper final episode. They could have at least done a two hour movie wrap-up. I hate it when shows end without a true conclusion. I won't really miss this show, but I did enjoy it.

I can't believe it! Twisting (and twisted) plot lines, beautiful sets and costumes, and incredible acting! Very deep characters. What the heck is Showtime thinking. If they didn't have enough people viewing, then it was on them for not effectively marketing it. What a shame. I will really miss this show. Maybe another network will pick it up.....
