The singing competition is axed after three seasons.

Fox has opted not to continue with The X Factor, canceling the singing competition after three seasons on the air in the US. The show was adapted from the original British version in 2011, but American audiences never really took to show, evidenced by it underperforming in each of its seasons.
Simon Cowell, who was The X Factor's executive producer, will be heading back to the U.K. where he will return to the British version of the show in the fall.

Man, you ain't got a clue what you are talking about! The 2012 winner (Philip Phillips) has topped the charts. Not sure about last year's winner, but, even if she hasn't done squat, it's still ludicrous to say what you did. Successful (music industry-wise) Idol contestants are all over the place!!!

The constant screaming and catcalling from the audience was the biggest flaw in this show. I LOVE live competitions. There are tons of great singers across this country, so it should never be a question of talent. Oddly, the only show of this kind I can't get into is the Voice. Just don't like the way it's set up. Don't like the picking a team, mentoring, yada, yada. Idol is still my favorite.

This was actually my favorite singing competition show because it was the most realistic, they actually made them perform. The other shows focus too much on just vocal ability, when in order to make a career entertain ing people you need to know how to perform and put on a show, even if it is just you and a Mic stand, you need to entertain with your voice,body,and staging.
I have also heard more from X Factor contestants than from the voice. And the main reason that show is successful is because it's all about the judges and their bickering, rather than the contestants. What took Fox so long to cancel that dreadful show? I liked the judging panel on the first season with Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Simon made a huge mistake firing them and hiring Demi, Britney and Paulina as judges.

Makes me think of a Letterman Top 10 List. The 10 Signs You Watch Too Much TV. 1 was you can actually tell the difference between American Idol and The X Factor.

Glad to see it go, once it was over you never saw the winner nor any of the contestants do much else. I think the final nail in the coffin was Paulina Rubio - what a joke, a person with no talent cannot possibly recognize talent or the lack thereof in others.

I am soooooo glad this show was cancelled. I tried to watch it. It was boring. None of the judges heard an act they didn't like. Now if they would get rid of America's Got Talent......

I really only watched season 2 cuz of Britney but even then I wasn't THAT into it. I hate American Idol...it's become about the judges and not about the singers....I love The Voice...they have amazing talented and I don't have to watch those awful singers who think they can sing but they really can't. X Factor...you are the weakest link...goodbye
