The CW announced today that The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for a sixth season. The popular drama is still going strong, ranking as the network's highest rated series in all key demographics - an impressive feat for a show five years into its run.
Along with The Vampire Diaries, The CW also announced early renewals for The Originals, Reign, Arrow, and Supernatural.
UPDATE: Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries will premiere on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 8:00pm.

Am I the only one getting concerned about the storylines? Love the show but I never know if I'm going to see a good episode or an slow paced, nothing going on episode. Need a better villian please. Marcos was lame!

I do love this show but had to take a break from it due to the length of some of the story lines. I started to get bored with Katherine so please don't drag out some of the stories for so long and I'll be an avid fan again.

I love this show and I'm VERY glad to see it was renewed for a 6th season!!! I agree with DITCH Katherine and KEEP Elena!!! Now I just want to find out how Damon's vampire blood problem gets resolved!
