This is a sick joke of a show from MTV.
Faking to be gay, to be cool... It is not funny, it is actually quite offensive from what I heard from a few gay friends I have.
MTV - Go back to music!

I actually really like this show. At first I was very hesitant because I am a trying to come out of the closet lesbian (in Texas) and in the character Amy there are many emotions that people just figuring out things (like me a lesbian) for the first time and aren't sure how to act or dress or say. but on another level its its not very realistic that teens would be so quick to go through these action, but the show has to stay interesting to the viewers' attention. so I would in my opinion like to keep this show. and the popular people that are bullying like that in the real world of high school (because I was so bullied and they acted a lot like them. But most of all I love comedy like shows that center themselves around LGBT related topics that somewhat help people like me (a closeted lesbian) understand that I am not the only one going through these changes and feelings. and yes a lot of this is f***'ed up. but that is what keeps it interesting.

I wish MTV would cancel all their TV shows if that would bring back more music videos. It trips me out how they have an award show for videos yet show none.

Totally agree with you Guy. Understand, I'm in my 30's and still watch Awkward, but this show just doesn't appeal to me. So they're pretending to be gay to become popular? I'm not gay but have plenty of gay friends who may be offended by this. This show does nothing to promote tolerance. Sad!

The notion that it's now so "fashionable" to be gay that people are "Faking It" is a very sad commentary on where society is and is headed. This is no better than the shows portraying teen pregnancy as the "in" thing to do. It's a disservice to society as a whole and goes beyond entertainment into the realm of contributing to the disfunction that has become the American teen.

Remember when "music television" played that stuff...what was it called...oh yeah "music." What is this show, some more tween drivel? Bleh.
