The comedy will not return for Season 4.
May 13, 2016
After three seasons, MTV has decided to cancel Faking It. The comedy had mostly been a solid performer for the cable network, though viewership steadily tapered off over the course of its run. This season's numbers have been drawing roughly half of those of its lead-in, Awkward.
Next Tuesday's episode will now serve as the series finale.

Good. Didn't like the premise from the get go. Sure sure, if it helps people understand one another better - that's fine. In this instance it seemed just another attempt to exploit lesbianism. Acting lesbian or bisexual with other girls at clubs and frat parties may make you interesting for a short while trying to pull it off as a full time charade seems too over the top.

We have enough shows about gays, lesbians, TG, and all the people that want to be one.

I totally agree with you bub. This show promoted the wrong message. Being who you are is cool even if it's not popular.

@Dylann... you missed my point... pretending to be something you're not, especially when it's generally something that may not be accepted well by others, in order to be seen as "cool" is a HORRIBLE message to send to young viewers. It's great if you're gay. It's equally great if you aren't. But writing a show promoting that one should PRETEND to be gay just to "fit in" is deplorable. It's like a show telling kids they should pretend to be some other social minority just to fit in... like pretend to be racist to fit in at school! "Crackhead' may not have been the best example.. it was off the cuff. The message SHOULD BE.. be who you are... not pretend to be something you aren't. This show actually perpetuates gay teenagers remaining "in the closet" because it may not be "cool" at their school. It's just a horrible, irresponsible, message for a television network to send to young viewers.

To bub,
I'm not sure how being gay and being a crack head are the same thing at all... This show shows that it is okay to do different.

... ahh... now how will all the children know it's "cool" to pretend to be gay??? WORST idea for a sitcom ever. What's next MTV? A show promoting how "cool" it is to be a crackhead? How "cool" it is to pretend to be an "adult baby"? How "cool" it is to have a foot fetish?
