There will be no season 4 for the crime drama.
August 28, 2014
A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

What is wrong with these people who obviously have no artistic talent; they go on to be in charge of programming and do a lousy job at that. This was a quality show with wonderful, talented actors. Wake up people you don't get rid of this type of entertainment. UNLESS of course, all you watch is the crap of reality tv and you think that is entertainment. A&E SHAME ON YOU

A&E you super messed up! Longmire, a five-star-quality show with a long list of redeeming values and wonderful characters/actors, well-thought-out scripts, amazing scenery, a show that emphasized integrity, loyalty and a champion of the underdog - it's obvious you didn't learn anything from these traits, or watch, your own program.
I'm never watching A&E again and will probably do the same with your other affiliates: History, H2,... etc.
I hope you go the way of the dinosaurs.

Well I think it is watched by more then just "me and you". Does A&E use the rating system, how do hey evaluate it. personally I think the decent family members watch it and should have a bigger interest in keeping it than the idiots that would rather watch the reality shows. Here I go again babbling on and on. Bring it back what ever network that picks this show up will have a decent rating right away. Never hurts to advertise a product and this show deserves a chance with decent promo given for it. MKL

Shame on you!! With all of the junk on three of the four major networks, by choice we have turned to the cable channels. After three seasons of watching every episode of Longmire, I find out A&E had no idea of what they had, so sad.I wonder who is trying to drive people away from TV. First the newspapers, now TV?

Just because the viewers and characters aren't the "right" demographic a quality show gets cancelled to make room for another insipid reality show. Wise up-older people have disposable income too! Or just keep enabling the dumbing down of America, as networks have done repeatedly.

I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter but shame on you for dropping a very good show. This is so much better than some others. Bring it back.

Why cancel a show this good. I watched Longmire every week regardless of what was on other channels. Hopefully another network will recognize how good this shoe was and be smart enough to pick it up. A&E you're not too smart because there aren't that many other good shows on your network. I guess I'll pass on watching A&E going forward.
