A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

yeah, let's cancel a unique program that people watch. hopefully, another network with more taste will pick it up.

Sooo, what does one watch on tv anymore when all of the good shows- well cast and acted, well written and directed, get canceled? I guess we quit watching A&E. No reason the watch A&E with the exception of Duck Dynasty. You cancel that show and we are gone for good.

they do listen to their viewers. Executives don't make these decisions without looking at viwership. If people aren't watching, they move on to something they can get people to watch. I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for so many people to grasp. I liked the show, but the network needs a lot more people than just me and you to like it if they're going to give it their valuable airtime.

A&E you need to fire the egghead who decided to cancel Longmire. This was one of the best shows on tv on any channel. Why don't you listen to your viewers for a change instead of some overpaid executive. You have just lost a lot of viewers by your stupid decision.

They keep getting rid of any show that people do like. They also only show 4or 5 shows for a season, then you have to wait 6 months or so to see 4 or 5 more shows. I say instead of cancelling good shows like Longmire, Cancel the executives at A*E and use the money they save by firing them to make more episodes of good shows. Stop all the reruns and reality tv it is a thing of the past. We want more shows......

ITS the dumbest thing you have done. what is wrong with you people. you put on a decent show where no one is showing their breast their sex organs having sex .I am quite sure that my opinion means nothing to you but if enough people quit watching a&e your little A&E may be dropped by the powers that be. I will never watch this channel again if you drop Longmire.

I really love this show. I never saw any ads for it being back on so I missed the whole season and only caught the last episode. I wish I would have know they were back on the air. I hope they get picked up by another network.

Why are good quality TV shows always getting cancelled? It can't be to put some new dumb reality show on. Longmire was my favourite show...it held true to the books and the writing and acting were fantastic. A&E used to be my favourite channel...they had so much good stuff on. Now I only tune in for Longmire, and that's gone now. I hope another network does pick it up. I certainly will never watch anything new on A&E.
