There will be no season 4 for the crime drama.
August 28, 2014
A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

I am sitting at work eating lunch, and I was STILL thinking about Longmire getting cancelled almost a week later. Out of 20-30 years of watching TV, this cancellation irks me the most. Fantastic writing and exceptional acting made this show one of the best on cable or networks. Another network will find a gold mine here. Someone (anyone!), please pick up this phenomenal show.

My entire family gathers to watch this show. Everyone is very unhappy that is has been canceled. However, it is about what I have come to expect from any network. The best shows are tossed out and trash is kept. I am seriously thinking of canceling my service.

Another great show bites the dust. Let's make room for another dumb and dumber reality show. If this is what the millenials watch lord help us all.

I am so sad to hear this news. Not sure how I'm going to tell my husband, he loves this show and has read all the books. I hope another network will pick the show up, it's so well done. I guess A&E needed to make room for more of it's stupid reality shows, guess there isn't any reason to watch A&E any more!

I have to agree with GrandePaw regarding adults 18-49. I'm a few months from turning 70 and I enjoyed Longmire and put it near the top of the priority-to-record list on my DVR to make sure it was recorded. A&E blew it when they cancelled Longmire and it appears that a lot of commenters agree (16 pages to date). Lastly I reiterate: A&E = IDIOTS!

This was a great show and Robert Taylor was a great choice to play Walt (even though he is an Australian). If you really liked the show, you don't have to say goodbye. There are 11 Walt Longmire Mysteries already written. Lately they have been coming out twice a year. In summary, stop complaining about the show being cancelled and read a book.

I was crushed when you canceled The Glades and left all of us hanging. What a horrible way to end a show....you should be ashamed. Now Longmire is canceled. So looked forward to it every summer, if another network picks it up, goodbye A&E, you bunch of idiots, I won't waste my time with you any more! It's a great show and I'm heartbroken. :o(

LONGMIRE IS AN EXCEPTIONAL SHOW. THE LAST EPISODE THIS SEASON LEFT US HANGING...AND I CAN'T BELIEVE A & E HAS CANCELLED IT. I'M ANOTHER LONGMIRE FAN WHO WILL SWITCH WITH FULL SUPPORT TO ANY OTHER CHANNEL THAT AIRS LONGMIRE IN THE FUTURE. THE CAST, THE STORY, THE SETTING ARE ALL SO GOOD! SHAME, SHAME ON A & E FOR NOT APPRECIATING IT!
