A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

A&E has lost their minds again! They canceled The Glades when it received high ratings and now Longmire. Both were well-written shows and prompt me to watch them over network TV. Such completely blind A&E executives. I hope, no pray, another station picks Longmire up. Soon I will be watching no cable/satellite or network Tv shows - just watching movies and reading books while listening to music.

Longmire is one of the best shows on tv. A&E where do you get the morons that make the decision to cancel an excellent show like Longmire? Does 5 million viewers & ratings not matter to you eggheads?

Longmire is the ONLY show I religiously watch every week. What a great show. If it is cancelled? The people making this decision should have asses kicked just for being stupid idiots. Cancel this great show but a ridicules show like family guy goes Bull crap. so disappointed in this decision.

What do you mean, @Mark. I CLEARLY have been to Wyoming - I mentioned 6th grade, developmentally disabled, red necks did I not? If you don't feel that's Wyoming, you apparently have never been there or you must be from there. Self discovery can be hard at times. I know. But stay calm, you'll learn to live with the challenges you face.
