A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

Longmire was a terrific show. It turned me on me on on to Criag Johnson's books. A&E, you should reconsider your decision not to renew the show. It was the best.

Well in response to John, not everyone has your mindless ability to get on here and slam some good people who enjoy a decent show. Really? Why would you cancel this awesome show.This is the only show my hubby watches.He hates TV.But we both love Longmire.I really hope another network picks it up,that way I dont have to ever turn to A&E.

If the level of grammar, spelling, and the use of the English language here is any indication of the A&E viewership, it's clear why Longmire was cancelled. After all, not many networks shoot for that 6th grade, developmentally disabled, red neck audience. But then again, perhaps that's merely the viewers in Wyoming.

Why are you so stupid? This is one of the best shows we watch and most of the new shows are really trash. A&E is going to lose must of your viewers by canceling this show as it is the only show left on your channel worth watching. It will be picked up by another channel as it is just GREAT.

I guess its getting to the point where you have to have a duck or a storage unit to say on A&E.
