A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons on the air. Premiering in 2012, the crime drama went on to become the cable network's most-watched original drama ever, amassing a sizable and loyal fanbase.
While its third-season ratings were down from previous years, it is not clear if that was the reason for the show's cancellation. It is being reported that its production company, Warner Horizon, will be shopping the series to other networks.

My wife and I are big fans of this very well done show. The characters are superb and the show is well written. I really hope someone has the foresight to pick this up.

Not surprised it was cancelled, normally shows get stronger as they go on. This did not, the first season was excellent, the second was very good also. The third season was by far the worst, it seemed to get bogged down in it's own storyline. I can only assume it was a different set of writers from the first two seasons.

Cancelled...this is a big mistake, the S3 cliffhanger alone will have people just begging to know what happens next.

Canceled??? Seriously A & E. First the Glades and now Longmire????? And you keep the Ducks?? No use in watching A $ E any longer. A & E, BYE BYE.

Cancelled with over 3.5 million viewers an episode?!?! Supernatural doesn't get that many and it's going on its 10th year on the CW. Oh ....that's right....a smarter network......

I wish I could cancel A&E. The Glades, Those who Kill and Longmire...loved all of them, all of them cancelled. I don't think I will ever watch another series on A&E.

Tip for whoever wants A&E to air their show. Never end it with a shooting whodunnit cliffhanger. Didn't turn out well for The Glades or Longmire.

I hope someone at these networks take some time and read the comments when good shows get cancelled so quickly, many people have the same comment, I think reality shows have seen there day and with on demand and so forth maybe the ratings system needs to change the networks are not getting it. I watched all three seasons and I am sorry to see another good show go. Really bad

This just makes me sick. My husband and I really enjoyed this show. Now we will never find out who shot who. Replayed that last scene over and over again trying to figure it out. Now I guess we'll never know unless a network with a brain picks it up. You SUCK A&E.
