The drama will end after Season 3.
June 22, 2015
NBC announced today that Hannibal is being canceled after three seasons. The move doesn't come as a complete surprise after Season 3 premiered at series-low ratings earlier this month, only to fall further in the two episodes following.
The network issued a press release with the following statement: “We have been tremendously proud of ‘Hannibal’ over its three seasons. Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made ‘Hannibal’ an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”
It appears as if the network will continue to air Season 3 through its full episode order, which still leaves 10 episodes remaining for fans to enjoy during the summer months.

Wow NBC made a huge mistake canceling this show but I'm not suprised since they cancelled all of there new good fall shows except they kept the awful Mysteries of Laura. Now here's hoping that they don't cancel Aquarius or that'll be a horrible decision.

Well could it be that killing people and eating their body parts might be distasteful to some people?

could never get into this show...didn't even finish
watching S02 so no great loss for me...The actor that
played Hannibal was very good though.

That's sad to hear. I loved seasons 1 and 2 of Hannibal, but I couldn't even sit through the first episode of season 3. It's very slow and boring. Perhaps they should have just left it after season 2 where it ended with a bang.

Aquarius was cancelled before it premiered. All 15 episodes were available on demand before it ever hit live TV. --- as for Hannibal, I loved season 1. Season 2 was also pretty good... I've lost interest in season 3. It's just nowhere near as engaging any more.

Personally, I don't think that there is a good reason (from viewer's point of view) to drag any series past 3 seasons. Some shows, really good at start, are stretched beyond their "use by date", odd cliff hangers are thrown in, just to attract ratings in a new season (example: "Prison Break", which IMHO actually should end after excellent first season).
So, if "Hannibal" S3 delivers a good finale and there is no loose ends - so be it, let's move on.
BTW - I really like the show, as all "Hannibal" books and movies. I'm sure that he (Hannibal) will be back, sooner or later - in a movie or new TV show.
Sometimes it's hard to understand why a show is not rating well (cancelling "Dracula" was a big letdown for me, same with "Sarah Connor Chronicles"), but it always comes down to the mighty dollar, right?

Maybe if NBC had brought it back at the same time of year as the previous two seasons people wouldn't have thought it was cancelled already. Instead NBC took a risk to bring it back after teenagers were out of school so they could stay up to watch it. What other brilliant risks will the networks come up with...!

I love this show as well, but when he ended up covered in blood in a scene there, and it looked rather messy compared to his usual precision, I figured people aren't gonna like that and it could be the end of the series. I am surprised the axe came this early into the season.
