The medical drama's first season is extended.
November 21, 2015
CBS has topped up the first season of Code Black, ordering five additional episodes of the medical drama. While the series is off to a relatively slow start through its first eight weeks, the top-up gives it a little more time to improve its numbers.
The extra episodes give Code Black a total of 18 for Season 1, just short of the typical 22 that comprise a full season. New episodes air Wednesday nights at 10:00pm.

This is a great show. Lots of drama to keep the attention, great writing, great acting, and very realistic. Just saw Chicago Med and it looks like it will be great too. I guess this is the season of medical shows.

Perhaps NBC, ABC and Fox could take note and give new series a chance and not just cancel them after three episodes of moderate ratings. There are existing series with their followers and new series trying to get a footing on nights such as Thursdays (aka TGIT aka Shonda Thursdays) would definitely have a hard time. Friday and Saturday nights are slow nights in terms of mature viewing and I think that some of these new series can be placed on those nights.

This show has held my interest. They have put together a great cast of actors that come together and hold my interest. Very enjoyable. MKL&ML
