The musical comedy will not be back for Season 3.
May 12, 2016
ABC has cancelled Galavant after two seasons. The sophomore series, which dubbed itself a musical comedy extravaganza, aired two short seasons on the network as a mid-season entry in 2015 and 2016.
Despite generally favorable reviews, the show's second season ratings were down considerably from Season 1, sealing its fate on a possible return.

I was never a fan of this show and surprised it even got made and renewed despite low ratings. Insiders said it was "dead since the pilot". I applaud the network (ABC) for giving it a try but it never resonated with enough people.

Well they didn't make the cut and now the door is completely shut. I guess the monks "will now have to go and get work at some cheap ass cable network" (from the final song of the series).

I knew this waa coming but it still hurts. Galavant was my daughter and I's favorite newer show.

While I'm sad that "Galavant" was not renewed, I feel they ended the series on the right note. It was a musical comedy that was thoroughly enjoyable and I hope someone comes up with a similar show in the near-future.

This is the most disappointing news ever. We absolutely loved this show. Having had the pleasure of meeting Tim Omundson a couple of years ago, I knew how much fun he is as a person, much less as a fun, fully-fleshed it character like King Richard. Let's hope his next role allows him to keep his glorious mane and the #KingsBeard

Overheard in the ABC Boardroom: ---" What's that? We here at ABC have a very unique show that is unlike anything else on any other network?? Really... well screw that.. we have to cancel that quick! We can't break the tradition we have of programming the same old mediocre crap! Now.. someone write a cop drama to fill its time slot.

Was really looking forward to seeing Tad Cooper all grown up, so this is very disappointing.
Plus, I can't seem to get the first season theme song out of my head.

I'm so disappointed with this decision! Galavant is funny, irreverent and very entertaining.

I was surprised the show even got a second season. I tried to watch the first season but I never really got into it.
For those who are saying you'll miss the goofy atmosphere, you should absolutely try out Yonderland. The show is ridiculous in so many ways but still clever and it's awesome.

It made me smile like no other show did. It was intelligent and silly at the same time. How many shows these days are silly on purpose? There was nothing like it. This news makes me sad.
