The hit comedy will be back after a 5-year hiatus.

HBO is bringing back its popular comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm for a ninth season. It has been five years since the award-winning show aired its last episode, but the door was always left open for additional seasons whenever creator Larry David felt he had more to say.
"We're thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can't wait to see what he has planned," said Casey Bloys, HBO president of programming, in a statement confirming the show's return.
Curb Your Enthusiasm premiered in 2000 and went on to become a huge hit for the cable network over the following decade. With 80 episodes under its belt, the comedy holds the distinction of being HBO's longest-running scripted series to-date.
There is no time frame set yet for the premiere of Season 9, nor is there any word on returning cast members, though one would expect the main players will all likely be returning.

Its HBO not TV Land. Can you imagine this show on TV Land? They would be cutting out so many jokes, the show would be 10 minutes long.

I can't help but notice a disproportionate amount of anti-Curb hipster douche bags coagulating here. Same kind of idiots who say "I'll pass," on whatever someone likes.
Go **** yourselves.

It will be interesting to see if Cheryl Hines is a train wreck after two years of marriage to a Kennedy. That family sucks the life out of their spouses like a food dehydrator.

So so happy! CYE is one of the funniest shows ever ... right up there with Seinfeld. Larry David is brilliant! Can't come soon enough.

You probably are in the minority mike. I personally love the Leon character. The show was already great before him, but he added a little something. I find him to be hilarious and he is probably my third favorite character (behind Larry and Susie). "Barack Obama mother f***er! Barack Obama! I'm the president of hittin dat a$$!"

I agree with Pope. I doubt this'll happen, but I wish Larry would go back to the L.A. setting, seems like the move to N.Y. was just to make it more like Seinfeld. He seemed to be more creative with better storylines in the L.A. version. and I know I'm alone in this, but I'm soooo sick of Leon, it's like all he's there for is to make sex and bodypart jokes. Gets old soooo quickly.

Could be great.. Larry David may have had a long enough break from it. By the end of the first series run every episode was Larry yelling 80% of the time (still pretty funny, but I got weary of the yelling). Hopefully he's "reset" and it goes back to more of the subtle, nuanced, humor of the early seasons -- with some yelling, just not all the time.
