HBO announced today that Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming to an end after its upcoming 12th season. It has been two years since the comedy last aired a new episode, and over a year since it received its Season 12 renewal. The final 10-episode season premieres on Sunday, February 4.

"As CURB comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this 'Larry David' persona and become the person God intended me to be - the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character," said creator and star Larry David. "And so 'Larry David,' I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders."

The long-running series premiered in 2000 and became a huge hit for HBO over the decade that followed. It has amassed dozens of awards, with each season garnering critical acclaim. Its release schedule has slowed in recent years though, as only four seasons have been produced since 2009.

Shot without a script, Curb Your Enthusiasm stars David as an over-the-top version of himself navigating daily life in Los Angeles along with his now ex-wife and manager. The improvised nature of the show and its focus on trivial details like restaurant seating, a missing toothbrush, or a cold cup of coffee continues to endear it to fans.
