No Season 2 for the new comedy.
July 6, 2016
ABC has cancelled movie-based comedy Uncle Buck after its first season. The freshman series aired its final episode last night, capping a short four week run.
Premiering in mid-June, Uncle Buck's summer run fared decently ratings wise, but evidently was not a strong enough performer for the network to consider a second season.

After watching the mick, with the same premise but a different name, I realize this can't be anything but related to the movie. That show was the same thing different name and made more than 4 nights. It had to be the fact that this was too close to the movie of the same name.

Also, how can someone say this show wasn't related to the movie when ALL THE CHARACTER NAMES WERE THE SAME!!! That's just silly.

How did I guess somebody would attribute it's cancellation to race? Good God man, grow the **** up.

Can we stop the argument that this is not related to a movie of the same name with a man named Buck, who is not the best influence, watching his brother's kids while he is not in the house. Unless you think the premise of the show is different, do not say the show is unrelated to the movie. "Bad Influence", "Buck", "Uncle" (a British show used this title to differentiate itself), "Nieces and Nephews", "My brother the Nanny", "Mike Epps Project" I'm not even trying and I came up with title different than the movie.
For a summer show it had decent ratings. I wonder why it didn't make it?

@Tc...Then they should have called it something else. If you're going to name a show the same name of the movie and everyone knew the premise was going to be the same then yeah then you compare it. I think maybe you are just to young to remember the original Uncle Buck movie and never saw it.

I must be the only one who liked this show it was funny! I dont think it was to be related to the movie at all and you had to see the humor of a crazy Uncle who seemed to do things that somehow turned out in the end results! Wish people would of gave it a chance instead of comparing it to the movie.

Does any TV exec get what the movie was about and why it was funny and touching at the same time???? ...
crickets of course..
Because of a heavy set uncle, yes because he was a big guy...
and of course John Candy..

HAHA never watched on episode and my man Mike Epps is funny but this show was doomed before it started. He only did it because he got paid. At this point anyone can be a TV exec.
