NBC tops up the new dramedy's order.
September 27, 2016
After a strong premiere outing last week, NBC has picked up five additional episodes of This Is Us. The freshman dramedy has been one of the stronger new series to debut so far in the 2016 fall season, with its first episode tracking to be highest-rated premiere thus far.
Today's pickup tops up the first season of This Is Us to a total of 18 episodes.

24 y/o male and I love this show. It's extremely emotional and the first few episodes have been good about adding small reveals and twists at the end to keep me begging for another episode. If you liked Parenthood this is even better so far, anyone who's thinking about trying it, stop thinking and watch.

My wife and I love this show and really enjoy watching it together. We are glad it got a full season and we are routing for a season 2.

Everyone that doesn't like this show is a LOSER. One of the best new dramas to come on Network TV in a long time.

Welll.. rather drab show.. I mean how about I write a 1 hour TV drama about someone going to the grocery store to buy groceries... while there, they run into an Ex, and !!!! Shocker!!!1 The person checking them out is..... Oh my.... their brother! And they had no idea he was back in town, let alone working as a cashier..... Sounds really dramatic doesn't it? Same overall type of story arcs of this show so far... mundane, drab, uninspired, daily rituals that are somehow supposed to be interesting because... because... because... well, I don't know why. I suppose if you're not overweight, that storyline is interesting??? If you've never had a job that paid you huge amounts of money for practically nothing (acting), I suppose quitting that job would be interesting (rather than just dumb)? I suppose if you're racist, having a bother of a different race may be interesting?? Truth is, this show is being hyped for NO REASON.

Sorry.. but I find it rather hilarious that DonnyV thinks this SCRIPTED drama is a "real life" story and seems to complaint hat "reality" shows aren't real. :) Uhm.. little tip.. EVERYTHING on TV is scripted, even the news and documentaries... EVERYTHING. This is not a horrible show... but thus far, it's not terribly interesting either. I'll give it one more episode.. but unless something comes out of left field to make this interesting, I'll give up after that.

It had a little bit of the feeling of a reality show to me, goofy, and I hate reality shows.
Besides the fact than none of the 20,000 concurrent sublots stimulated any interest, can't writers place a small limit on the number of concurrent plots to go in and out of. I realize that the tying together of seeming unrelated events of the characters is the foundation of the show, but tying together uninteresting characters and plots makes for a mess. Maybe this show should pick one set of actors and their plot, and drop everything else. Create a new premise. Wipe away the goofy reality-like scripting.

I like it. I love shows like this just regular shows about normal people living life. I don't want shows about superhero's or old fairy tale characters, or government, This reminds me of 30 something and I think I'm going to like it if it gets to stay. I just hope it stays normal and doesnt get all weird!
