The sophomore drama earns a back nine order.
October 31, 2016
Fox had some good news for Lucifer fans this morning, issuing an order for nine additional Season 2 episodes of the devilish drama. The pickup comes after a solid start through the opening five weeks of the fall, and gives the series its first full season of 22 episodes.
Lucifer premiered as a mid-season entry back in January of this year and impressed the network by becoming its 2nd-highest-rated new series of the season, as well as ranking in the top 5 among all freshman broadcast series in the adults 18-49 demographic. Its performance not only earned it an early renewal, but also a move to the fall lineup.
That move, which paired it with Gotham on Monday nights, appears to be paying off so far. Lucifer has been keeping pace with its lead-in, giving a the network a consistent prime time duo to start each week.

... to state the obvious... no one, and I mean no one, cares what 74 year olds like to watch. They aren't part of ANY demographic. No disrespected intended, but let's be realistic. Network barely care if your 55... at 75 they've LONG forgotten about you.

I love this show and the comic book it came from. It's funny, but it does need more monsters. Only doing police procedurals all the time can get a little old. And no one cares if people who hate religion don't like this show. Which is ironic as nobody who is religious seems to care at all about it. It's a great show though. But like I said. give us some interesting monsters to deal with too.

I have real life issues with christianity which has, for the most part, caused me to be HIGHLY critical of story lines that promote it in a good light. That being said, I am facinated by the mythology of the religion and Lucifer it turns out is not a dissappointment. The writers dont follow the deluted party line and have created a world as if scripture may have actually been talking of real beings. I was sure I was going to hate it, but Ive found Ellis and Brandt's one-two combo of Lucifer and Maze too delicious not to watch. Harris and Woodside bring intrigue and fun that keep things rolling. There is a lot to accept on faith (excuse the pun) in regards to the charactors (Chloe especailly) but Im going to give them time to iron it out. One of my favorites!

Its based off an extremely popular Comic that was created by Neil Gaiman. Not just a gimmick fox came up with.
