CBS announced today that MacGyver has been renewed for Season 2. The update of the classic action-adventure series joins Bull as the only two fall freshman dramas the network has decided to bring back for another season.
MacGyver has been a bit of a surprise success for the network. Expectations for the show going into its fall premiere were decidedly low after an early panning by critics, but its numbers have told a different story, improving its time slot vs. the previous year in both total viewers and the adults 18-49 demographic.
Look for Season 2 of MacGyver this fall.

Yes, CBS made the right decision. Great Cast, Great Storytelling. Love This Show, here's to many more seasons.

I'm surprised, but glad. It's a bit different from the original, but still has the "MacGyver touch", and the cast works well together.
I think most of the people who hate this show while saying they love the original are mistaken: they loveD it, but would probably hate it if they tried to rewatch it now because it's not exactly like they remember it.
