No Season 6 for the action series reboot.

It is being reported that CBS has cancelled MacGyver after five seasons. The sad news comes ahead of action drama's upcoming finale on April 30, which will now serve as its series ender.
An updated take on the 1980s classic, the series was a surprise success for the network when it premiered in 2016. While initial expectations were decidedly low after an early panning by critics, viewers tuned in in solid numbers, helping CBS solidify its time slot over the course of its run.

I enjoyed this show but the writing had become "used" they should have added new writers to refresh the storylines. However, I will miss the show.

This was a terrific show! Why cancel this and keep reality show junk on for decades is beyond me. Yes, they went overboard with all the PC junk with forced comments and inclusions just for the sake of the comments and side inclusions. I don't like when shows do that, but it was a terrific show otherwise. This show had so much more to offer and ending it without an end after so long is a huge disservice to fans, especially giving no notice with the show that it was the series finale. Not cool CBS. Not cool. I didn't even realize the episode on the 30th was the last one of the season, let alone the last ever. Very not cool. Not cool at all.

This sucks, was a great show. Season 6 would have had Mac and Riley getting together. I always wanted a crossover between Macgyver and Magnum P.I.

I have to agree that woke storylines killed this show. However if you never watched it why even comment.

Kind of ridiculous how they are trying to suddenly turn the show political and 'woke' in a matter of a few episodes. Riley's 'hacker girls' are just hackers because 'one is non-binary' and then Macgyver has to go on a rant about BLM protests. If this had continued I'd probably stop watching the show anyway.

I am watching the final few episodes and I am nervous that the nanobot storyline will cause the show to end on a cliffhanger. If that happens, my opinion of CBS as a network will drop significantly.

I can understand it being canceled: Russel was a bad addition, shoved Maddie out the door - stop making team mates couples, and keep the show to show story lines. Codex has been worked to death and yet it continues. I liked the show but the writers ruined it. Take a lesson from NCIS they have stayed true to single show story line and they still are going strong. Today's shows start strong then within a short time what we started watching the show for turns sideways and the writers ruin them.
