The comedy will return for 2017-2018.
March 23, 2017
CBS announced today that Life in Pieces has been renewed for a third season. The good news comes as the comedy winds down on a sophomore season that continued its its solid performance on Thursday nights, where it airs behind Mom, which was also renewed today.
Life in Pieces follows three generations of the Short family, with each episode telling four separate short stories that each focus on a different branch of the clan.
Look for Season 3 of Life in Pieces to premiere as part of the network's 2017-2018 lineup this fall.

I binge watched Season 1 on Netflix with my husband and young adult children. We all loved this show. It's a real comedy gem. We laughed so hard through the entire season, all consumed over a 2 day period. I was thrilled to just find out it was renewed for a 3rd Season and we have number 2 to find somewhere and watch too!! This is really a great show.

Life in pieces is one of the few shows we really enjoy. Glad it was renewed. Wish it was on for an hour, and had way less commercials.

I generally like this show.. just wish they'd remove the "coming up..." pieces. They aren't necessary and really, I think were a ploy to make it *seem* different from other family centered sitcoms. It's different because of the characters and stories.. it doesn't need the "Next up.." parts.
