It is being reported that The Carmichael Show will be coming to an end after its current third season. The news comes on the same day that the cast's options are due to expire, with statements being released by both the network and creator Jerrod Carmichael confirming that the show would not be returning.
The Carmichael Show was inspired by the aforementioned comedian's life and his relationships with his family and girlfriend. The half-hour series drew decent ratings during its three mid-season runs, while garnering its share of acclaim for its take on current social and political issues.
Seven episodes remain in the show's current season, with the series finale expected to air in August.

NBC didn't want to cancel but sadly they found no profit in it. I guess I'll go back to watching reruns of Family Matters.

lighten up folks..it's a sitcom. and it is funny..NBC is doing what NBC (and ABC) does best - cancel good shows!

They should jsut call this show "Maxine vs the Carmichaels" It is really a Maxine show and has almost NOTHING to do with Jerrod Carmichael. Every episode is Maxine trying to change the opinions of the Carmichael family. All Jerrod does is throw in a one liner ever 10 minutes.

@matt Carmichael show and last man standing were your favorite comedies over Blackish? That might explain your taste in comedy. I don't think you understand what funny is. And Superior Donuts is ok but it's a cheesy laugh track show that's a dime a dozen.
