It is being reported that USA Network has renewed Queen of the South for a third season. The good news comes in the middle of the drama's sophomore run, which premiered in June and been continuing its solid performance for the cable network.
So far this summer the series has been averaging 1.1 million total viewers and ranks as cable's top-rated drama on Thursday nights among adults 18-49.
Queen of the South follows the story of a woman out to take down the leader of a drug trafficking ring that has her on the run in America after her boyfriend was murdered in Mexico. The show is based on the best-selling novel La Reina Del Sur by acclaimed author Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
New episodes are currently airing on Thursday nights, with the second-season season finale set for August 31. Look for Season 3 of Queen of the South in 2018.
