USA Network announced today that Queen of the South will be coming to an end after its upcoming fifth season. The news arrives a year and a half after the drama was renewed for its now-final run.
The veteran series has been a solid performer for the network, often ranking as cable television's top scripted series in its Thursday night time slot in numerous key demographics.
Queen of the South follows the story of a woman out to take down the leader of a drug trafficking ring that has her on the run in America after her boyfriend was murdered in Mexico. The series is based on the best-selling novel "La Reina Del Sur" by acclaimed author Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
Season 5 of Queen of the South premieres on Wednesday, April 7 at 10:00pm.

I stopped watching after James left. I tried when they moved to N.O. but couldn't stomach it any more. No loss.

I've loved this show but it's been like a decade since the last season was on - so hearing this is not that much of a surprise I just hope they do it justice since I can still recall the very first episode since that already showed what happens at the end.

@Kim: What "white" shows? You mean like FBI, 911, 911 Lonestar etc....?? Whites are in the minority on these shows and they are portrayed as gay quite often. Yes, Hollywood is racist against whites, showing them as the cause of all evils in society. Clearly you are not paying attentnion.

A damn fine show. I hope it gets a real ending. Sometimes these types of shows are canceled after the season has been filmed. If a show like LIFE ON MARS could change it's ending weeks before knowing it was canceled, most shows should be able to. Do not give us a cliffhanger series finale like INTO THE BADLANDS, when everyone on the planet knew it was over, yet they leave you hanging............

No surprise, hollywood has been passing their political propaganda and yet they are the racist of them all. They wouldn't even let their non-white shows film during covid and made them wait, now their canceling to make more room for white shows.

I think I may have watched roughly two seasons but I got too far behind (there was better stuff on at the time) and had to lose all my DVRd episodes. When I wanted to pick it up again, it wasn’t available. Decent original TV and. the USA network has been in morbid steady decline which makes QOTS look even better. Wish I had stayed watching it.

Sad to hear. It will likely be replaced by yet another gawd awful Dick Wolf left-wing police procedural drama. How about one with a black lesbian police chief attracted to a subordinate officer who is a trans, now "male," perhaps of South Indian origin. The only whites would be police officers who stop black drivers for traffic violations but are told not to bother doing so.
