No Season 4 for the space drama.
September 1, 2017
Word is out this afternoon that Dark Matter has been cancelled at Syfy after three seasons. Series co-creator Joseph Mallozzi confirmed the news in a post this afternoon on his personal blog, expressing his deep sadness in a brief statement and promising to follow up with more thoughts in a further entry.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the Canadian-produced space drama follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board the vessel. They then work together to survive the voyage, facing threats such as betrayal, secrets, and vengeance around every corner.
The series aired its final episode just last week, ending a three-year run with a total of 39 episodes.

Nooo!!! Did not see that coming. Why do you cancel shows like this that are REALLY good, ones that get to a point where they create complex story arches that are meant to continue for more than one episode or season and then end them before we the viewer can get the payoff of those complex story arches? I mean REALLY? And there is the double edged sword for shows...create cliff hanger season enders and leave questions unanswered to keep viewers interested in coming back next season....and then there isn't another season and everyone is left with unanswered questions.

No more female android with boobs! Sad day :(
SyFy wouldn't have cancelled it if the female android wore a bikini & the crew fought off alien space sharks.

I'm wondering why it is that good, entertaining shows are cancelled and the boring ones go on and on and on.

This series had a lot of places to go and the writers did not paint themselves into a corner. There is more to tell!

Bummer! This was a show I just recently discovered. I binged the first 2 seasons and just finished watching the third season. High quality show, right up there with Eureka and Haven. I really enjoy Killjoys, but this season's story line was a little weak compared to the first couple of seasons. I was really looking forward to the next season of Dark Matter. Doubt another network would pick it up, but I hate series that go out on a cliffhanger. Maybe Syfy would let them make a final movie, or episode to wrap things up.
