No Season 4 for the space drama.
September 1, 2017
Word is out this afternoon that Dark Matter has been cancelled at Syfy after three seasons. Series co-creator Joseph Mallozzi confirmed the news in a post this afternoon on his personal blog, expressing his deep sadness in a brief statement and promising to follow up with more thoughts in a further entry.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the Canadian-produced space drama follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board the vessel. They then work together to survive the voyage, facing threats such as betrayal, secrets, and vengeance around every corner.
The series aired its final episode just last week, ending a three-year run with a total of 39 episodes.

Well , this is it. SGU, Defiance, Dark Matter, and I know I am missing some. I'm done. No more SciFi or SyFy or whatever they want to call it. I like KillJoys, liked Dark Matter better. I too feel they got this backwards. Saw a show on Netflix I was gonna try, Van Helsin, started it up and that big SyFy was there. Turned that crap off. Again, I'm done.

My first reaction to seeing this was "this is some bulls?!#!". I must not be alone because I don't think I've ever seen a post here with so much activity so quickly. There's a change.org petition gaining some traction:

Once again, a good show gets cancelled with a cliff hanger and leaves all the people who watched from day one wondering how it all ends. Hopefully there will be a movie to tie it all together with an ending we deserve...just saying.

I watched both Killjoys and Dark Matter and I loved Dark Matter a lot more than Killjoys. Both were quality shows IMO but I thought Dark Matter had the better story lines and actors; Killjoys only really stuck to their show's premise (space bounty hunters) for only 1 season. Now, if they cancel The Expanse, I will begin construction on my own Death Star and blow up Earth!!! (insert evil laugh) <---- joking.

This deeply saddens me. Dark Matter was a great show with a good storyline. I'm still hopeful that with enough whining from viewers, they or another network will pick it back up and complete the series in another one or two seasons.

I can't believe it! No more black ships?
SyFy had a nice night of solid space opera with both Killjoys and Dark Matter. But I always thought Killjoys was the weaker of the two, and from the treatment Killjoys got this last season with an early showing of 5pm on the west coast I thought SyFy thought the same as well.
Oh, well.
