The talk show will continue for 2 more seasons.

HBO announced today that Real Time with Bill Maher has been renewed for Seasons 17 and 18, extending its run through at least 2020. The long-running talk show has been continuing its solid performance for the cable network, due in-part to the country's increased interest in the current political landscape. During last year's presidential election, the show drew its largest average audience since 2003.
Hosted by comedian and political satirist Bill Maher, Real time is a weekly talk show featuring journalists, politicians, and celebrities who join Maher in discussing current events happening around the areas of politics and the media.
Season 17 of Real Time with Bill Maher will premiere in 2019, with Season 18 following in 2020.

Chase: That's why Sandy said "especially to republicans, because he's intelligent". In full context she said that he can't appeal to republicans because he's intelligent. Which obviously implies left-leaning.

I guess my personal boycott of HBO will continue.

Maher reminds me of a racist that says "But I have a lot of black friends" every time he says stuff like "I get on the democrats too" or "I don't just pick on republicans" -- if that were true, he wouldn't have to say it aloud. He's just gotten too full of himself and seems to be surrounded by foot-lickers rather than actual, honest people who tell him he's not the be-all-end-all he thinks he is.

"especially Republicans, because he's intelligent." --- uhm no.. because he CLEARLY is left leaning, in spite of what he says. Don't get me wrong, that's fine. but come on, you can't see his leftist slant, you aren't looking. (Note I'm a centrist and think BOTH parties are bat shit crazy).

Love Bill Maher. He won't appeal to everyone, especially Republicans, because he's intelligent.

Bill Maher is the MASTER of the pre-laugh... he laughs halfway through a joke in order to convince others to laugh along with him. It's a staple of a BAD comedian. Look it up.. the pre-laugh is a KNOWN gimmic in comedian circles.

Allowing others to come on does not prove he is not biased. Chase is right. He is biased. That is ok. Rush is biased too. BUT they are both "self-centered douches" IMHO. THAT is not ok. And I've not heard anything Bill has said that was funny. Just comes across as pompous jerk. He might have eventually said something actually funny but i have to turn him off. Too each his own. Glad you like him. I'd rather clean the litter box.

This show is not impartial as it's about bill m. And he never said it was impartial. He does have both sides on his show though. So the other reviewer is wrong in his assumptions of non bias , he does allow the other side to come on his show. Where some shows don't. He makes me laugh and that's a good thing. SO this is good news

I like this show. Like the format, Like hearing the guests. But Bill Maher REALLY comes across as a self-centered "I'm not a leftist" leftist douche. Just like his "Vice" and "Vice News" claiming to be "impartial" while CLEARLY being biased. Too bad they can't find a different host to carry on the same format overall.
