The long-running drama will lose two original cast members.
January 30, 2018
USA Network announced today that Suits has been renewed for an eighth season. The veteran drama continues to be a reliable performer for the cable network, where it remains one of its most-popular originals.
Though while the show will be continuing, it was confirmed today that original cast members Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle will be departing at the end of Season 7. Confirmed to be returning are original stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Rick Hoffman, along with the newly joined Dulé Hill, who will be a regular going forward.
Along with today's pickup, USA Network also announced a return date of March 28 for the back-half of Season 7. New episodes will air through April 25, where a 2-hour season finale is planned to send off Adams' and Markle's characters.

Merkle has left to sponge of the British purse. She could have carried on working after marriage as most woman in the UK have to.

I'm a big fan and very glad the show is returning in 2018. Will miss the chemistry between Harvey and Mike though. Please keep the light comedic element, but most of all, the show needs to be about the law-that's the secret sauce that makes me watch. No, I'm not a lawyer.

@Jaymson - Wikipedia says Maggie filed for divorce one year ago, but that's all I know.
I wonder if any TV series has taken on two cast members that previously starred together in another TV series? As I wrote that sentence, right now, I thought of Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller (Prison Break and Legends of Tomorrow), so there must be others. Too bad we won't be seeing Juliet and Gus together anew. I can see Dule Hill making a reference to the Mentalist in claiming he has superior deductive lawyering skills.

@Steve, Maggie Lawson is still married, but i like your suggestion better than miss Heigl. I won't miss Rachel and Mike should've left seasons ago. He started to get really on my nerve. I will miss the chemistry with Harvey and Mike. It will not be the same without te banter.

Rachel (Meghan Markle) was the only normal regular person on Suits. All other regulars have had extremes and some crazy. Rachel was the odd character because the writers never had her acting weird. I don't think this was planned. Rachel, it seems, was an accident. I think the Suits writers are loopy and think everything always has to be extreme. This is a crutch and a gimmick in place of intelligence and coherence. I'm still going to watch because the good has outweighed the perpetual pants on fire. Maybe losing Mike (Patrick Adams) and Meghan could be a good thing, as key as Mike was - if the writers dispense with their crutch.

My favorite character is Harvey, but he will not be definitely the same the time Mike Ross is out of the picture.
There is not Suits without Mike Ross and Harvey Specter. End of discussion!

Look, I LOVE Suits... but WHY? Partick & Meghan leaving, Gina left (a while ago).. I really think it's time to wrap this show up.

Katherine Heigl - you weren't kidding - she's the latest add. I really haven't watched her TV work. But I assume she'll be a hardened ruthless lawyer. I would have added Jules (Maggie Lawson, @Derek thanks for liking my Gus reference) as a budding lawyer to replace Rachel. Heigl is 39, two years older than Lawson, who is one year older than Markle for those keeping track. Maggie is single. Katherine is married to a country singer. Meghan is engaged to the pogey.
