The comedy revival receives another pickup.
March 17, 2018
NBC announced today that the Will & Grace revival has received its second renewal since returning to television, for what will be the show's 11th season overall. The early pickup comes with two episodes remaining in its ninth season, ensuring the Emmy Award-winning comedy will be on the air for the foreseeable future.
The series wasted no time in picking up where it left off after returning to TV last fall. The revival has garnered praise for capturing the essence of the original series and being able to return to form without missing a beat. The show was even nominated for a 2018 Golden Globe Award in the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category.
Will & Grace originally premiered in 1998 and during its eight years on the air it became a staple in the peacock network's Must See TV comedy lineup on Thursday nights. Rumors of a revival first started when the cast reunited in the fall of 2016 for an online special urging Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election. And while that was done without any involvement from NBC, it was enough for the network to start thinking about bringing the show back.
Today's Season 11 renewal is for 18 episodes that will premiere in the fall of the 2019-2020 season. As for Season 10, which returns this fall, its original order of 13 episodes has now been expanded to 18 as well.

This show back in the day was witty, well acted and hilarious. I'm a Trump fan and the new stuff is too lefty groupthink for me...I watch the reruns though.

Renewed?????? Too bad. Waste of time, money and energy. Keep your politics to yourselves and go back to being funny.

I really wanted to like this show. I loved the original and even though I'm fully aware that it has always had a political element to it, I just can't anymore. I am so tired of politics. I'm tired of grown adults using terms like "snowflake." I'm tired of the arguments and the debates. I'm tired of not being able to watch a show without hearing everyone's political leanings. Yes, again, it's always had a political element but until recently, we've never been quite this vocally political as a society. I'd like an escape from that for a bit. Unfortunately this show doesn't fit the bill.

This show was funny when they stuck to the characters' story-lines. Now that it is a schlockfest of political baloney, I find it tedious and nauseating. Too bad they brought back a show only to reveal why it was cancelled in the first place. Because the writers couldn't go anywhere else with the characters.

I was enjoying this show but the last Nazi Trump Cake episode was over the top. I know these snowflakes hate democracy but this episode was pathetic. I will give it one more episode.

Maybe I'll try watching again later but for now I removed from my dvr, just wasn't watching plus this show just has way too much of a political agenda which makes it just not entertaining which is what this show is supposed to be all about. Since I'm a fan, I'm clearly not racist or against anyone being gay or whatever they want to be. Please remove the political agenda so I can watch again!!!

Every time a show like this threatens me personally, I find a way to rip on it. Deep down I think the renewal news is great, but it's all part of my inner struggle.

I guess NBC has nothing else when this is "good" enough to get renewed.
