The comedy has been picked up for a 10th season.
August 3, 2017
At today's TCA session for the upcoming revival of Will & Grace, NBC announced that the Emmy Award-winning comedy has been renewed for an additional season - its 10th. The early pickup comes two months ahead of the Season 9 premiere and is more good news for the revered comedy, which was brought back to life back in January when the network officially ordered a new season with its original cast.
Will & Grace premiered in 1998 and during its eight years on the air became a staple in the peacock network's Must See TV comedy lineup on Thursday nights. Rumors of a revival originally began swirling last fall, when the cast reunited for an online special urging Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election. And while that was done without any involvement from NBC, it was enough for the network to start thinking about a revival.
Today's Season 10 renewal is for 13 episodes in the 2018-2019 season. The episode count for this fall's ninth season was also extended today and now comes in at 16 episodes.

Poor Debra. Her friends all stayed funny and she just became the annoying friend that no one wants to hang out with. Not sure what happened. Her scenes are the least funny part of the show.

Wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be. Still a great show, but it lost some of its zing that made it so funny. Debra seemed off. Karen wasn't as entertaining but Jack and Will were on target.

Finally was able to watch the season premiere! It was a bit disappointing. Jack, Will, and Karen were a hoot! Debra Messing though just didn't seem to fit this time around. I'll keep watching of course, but it doesn't have the same spark as the original.

The original did not have to compete with streaming. Netflix, hulu, amazon have shown us how to make good tv. This "will" remind us how not to. I wonder if the other networks are paying for this to be made so that they don't have to compete with NBC anymore. I almost could write the "It's not the early 2000's anymore, we do not need to be told when to laugh." reviews that are going to come in.

Looking forward to this ground breaking show to return. It's hardly "crap" and they won't cancel it as it was just renewed for its 10th season.

.
And, you think heterosexual roles on TV AREN'T showing what they do with their genitalia in as public a way as possible? Have you not seen Two Broke Girls? That's about as public a demonstration of their genitalia as it gets...

The problem with this is that nobody 'will' watch it. It had no redeeming 'grace' back when it was on. It was poorly written in a style that the world has come to see the problems with. It will try to force laughs with a corny outdated laugh track. The jokes will be one liners that are just rewritten late night monologues. Look at the current emmy noms, only 1 nomination for this type of show. The real joke will be when this crap is pulled after 4 episodes.

Love, love, love that it's coming back. With all the horrible things that are happening around the world and the In justice and prejudice. We to be able to come home and laugh. This show has a lot humor for all walks of life that people need right now. Thanks for bringing it back it. ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Sean Hayes has to find some way to get his gay agenda seen. All his gay-centric shows have been cancelled because they sucked. I don't care if anyone is gay or not... what I don't understand is why its so important to some that everyone knows what they like to do with their genitalia in as public a fashion as possible. I mean just because someone is gay... that surely can't be a physical cause for the "gay accent". I find the stereotypical gay man on tv as offensive as I find the stereotypical black man, or asian man.. or whatever. If the gay community REALLY wants acceptance.. stop letting the stereotypes speak for you. And that includes Sean Hayes.
As for the show.. wasn't funny originally.. won't be funny 20 years later... they are wasting money and resources. But hey.. I don't have to watch and won't. And it's not my money they are wasting.

The only thing I never liked about the original was Grace. Not because of Debra Messing and her politics. I didn't even know her stance until recently and even then I still don't care. I honestly just don't think she's a good actress and didn't care for the character. Outside of that though, I loved everything else about the show. But I have to say I am not interested in a revival and very much doubt I would watch it. I would rather they put effort into new shows. I can watch Will & Grace reruns whenever and I do! They are on all the time.
