It looks like The Last Man on Earth has reached the end of the road after four seasons. Star January Jones posted the sad news on her Instagram account this afternoon, expressing her gratitude for her time on the show.

"To our @lastmanfox's been an amazing 4yrs, thank you for all the hard work, we love you and will miss seeing you every day! And thank you to our fans who loved and laughed at these ridiculous and lovably flawed characters," the actress wrote, alongside a picture of her co-star Will Forte.

The end-of-the-world comedy premiered in 2015 with a 13-episode mid-season run that garnered critical acclaim and solid ratings. After a good first-showing, Fox moved the series to its regular fall lineup and upped its episode count to 18. Two more renewals would follow, though its ratings slowly tapered off over the course of its run.

As The Last Man on Earth has done in the past, Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger finale that, to its fans dismay, will never be resolved.
