The show's final run is set for 2019.
May 17, 2018
Today at its upfront presentation for the 2018-2019 season, The CW announced that Season 5 of iZombie will be its last. The news comes the week after the veteran drama earned a last minute renewal for what will now be its final season.
While a show's fans never like to hear of it coming to an end, advanced notice like this does give showrunners an opportunity to craft a proper ending to the story - a situation much more desirable than when a show gets axed after a season-ending cliffhanger, as is what happens to so many.
The fifth and final season of iZombie was slotted in once again as a mid-season entry, meaning a premiere in early 2019 is likely.

I love this show and wish it would last longer but I am happy the series will come to a proper conclusion

I’ll be sad to see it go because I’m a fan! But glad it will have a ending and not just leave us wondering! So Kudos to Izombie on 5 seasons! I didn’t even think it would receive a second season so to have 5 is a big deal!

Once Zombies became known in the show's universe by everyone, lost some of its appeal

I hate these networks. Every good show they cancel. They are just plane ignorant of what viewers / fans want to see. Just completely at a loss as to how these people make their decisions. They will likely kill Izombie and pick up the rights to Lucifer and Gotham from Fox since those shows are in the DC universe and are a conflict for FOX now that Disney who owns Marvel, is buying them. These shows would pair well with Arrow and Flash and Legends and because of that they need to make room in their roster and dump a perfectly great show with a dedicated fan base. Just stupid. Plain and simple.
