The show's final run is set for 2019.
May 17, 2018
Today at its upfront presentation for the 2018-2019 season, The CW announced that Season 5 of iZombie will be its last. The news comes the week after the veteran drama earned a last minute renewal for what will now be its final season.
While a show's fans never like to hear of it coming to an end, advanced notice like this does give showrunners an opportunity to craft a proper ending to the story - a situation much more desirable than when a show gets axed after a season-ending cliffhanger, as is what happens to so many.
The fifth and final season of iZombie was slotted in once again as a mid-season entry, meaning a premiere in early 2019 is likely.

Watched all episodes to date and I can safely say I agree with the final season. Just make sure you don't give us the old "F U to the viewers" type ending to p*ss us all off.

I am a fan of the show but I do agree that writers kind of forced the cancellation when they made they zombie apocalypse. It was much better watching Liv solve crimes week to week as one of the few zombies. Show has kind of strayed away from that.

I like zombie because it is a cop show with a silly twist. It is the very first time I have been able to tolerate anything "zombie."
I'm ok with the cancellation because it gives them time to write an ending, and they have gone WAY off kilter any way. Ditto Steve (with no initial)

The show should have never gone to the izombie apocalypse. It was a lot better when it was just about Liv and her friends. The whole Blaine and his father subplot, the human smuggling rig into Seattle subplot, and a bunch of other subplots never added anything to the series.

I really loved this show the first two seasons when it was dealing more with the personal, PTSD-esque nature of discovering she was no longer alive. The 3-prong story line was nice too - instead of focusing on just the lead character, you had a very dynamic storyline unfolding throughout the series. However, I agree with most - good show, but when it became the typical "end of the world" series it lost something important. Im grateful we're getting an out on this, unlike Lucifer.

Love the show and am kind of glad, show cant survive very much longer as there's only show much good story left. Hopefully show can go out strong with next season wrapping everything up.
Will miss the show but rather that then wish it was cancelled after it passes its expiry date.
What is dead may never die.
But rises again harder and stronger.

Damn. At least we got one more short season. Gotham , also go this treatment. which all being said is a better than abrupt cancellation like lucifer got. I hope Agents of shields next short season is also not the end of that one.
