The Marvel-based cable series will conclude its story this year.

FX announced today at the TCA winter press tour that the upcoming third season of Legion will be its last. The superhero drama was officially renewed for Season 3 last June but there was no word at the time regarding a plan for its endgame. It was stated today, though, that series creator Noah Hawley had planned on a three-season run from its inception.
Legion is one the more-recent Marvel Comics-based entries on television and was the first of its kind on a cable network, after other Marvel-based fare found success on both broadcast TV and Netflix. While the show's viewership took a hit in Season 2, it continued to garner widespread critical acclaim for its unique take on the genre.
The series follows a man diagnosed with schizophrenia who comes to realize that the voices he hears and the visions he sees are the result of him actually being a mutant. Now working with a team of specialists, he is able to explore an extraordinary new world of possibilities.
No premiere date has been scheduled for the third and final season of Legion, though a return this spring is expected.

Although I've seen every episode, I have a very loose idea of what it is all about. I read the Wikipedia description of the show and it helped me to somewhat understand what I am watching. This show has had some of the most creative visuals I've ever seen on television, but the details of the storyline are overwhelming and confusing. I think that is the intention as it deals with powerful madness.

Having seen the whole episode I thought it was better than expected. It remains to be seen whether it continues, but I hope that it does

Loved season 1
Hated season 2 and three looks just as bad.
I keep watching in the hope that it might return to the standards of season 1, but I suspect it may not....

This is one of the few gems on TV just for the visuals alone. No show on TV has ever done things like this show. Season 2 reached some unexpected highs in the pathos of some characters' storylines. It really improved between seasons 1 and 2 since season 1 was the standard "society is trying to stamp out the mutants" Marvel storyline and season 2 was much more a psychological thriller where the villians are a lot more personal.
Knowing now that there we are on a planned story arc that will end with season 3 makes me anticipate season 3 even more.

Love this show, can't wait for Season 3! One of the few shows that when I watch I lose time, I'll watch and when it's over I swear I will have only watched a few minutes. Mesmerizing.

A very unusual show by any standards and season two twist ending was really a HUGE payoff. Still I will be sad to see this go. Perhaps the legion characters can guest star in The gifted" which occurs in the same universe. Being that marvel has several in play right now.

Sad but also good to know, rather have them plan a good ending to tie up any loose ends then have to cancel on a cliffhanger because of reduced viewership (which sucks as shows fantastic).
That being said Shows not for everyone and i understand why but i absolutely love it. Great story with superb acting and visuals. Truly One of a kind but having a excellent 3 season run is better than having the show cancelled or milked for years on end ruining the show.
Will be missed, lets just hope season 3 can live up to the first 2 and give us a "satisfying" end.
