No Season 5 for the family comedy.
May 10, 2019
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled Life in Pieces. The sad news comes five episodes into the comedy's fourth season, which was moved to air in the mid-season this year for the first time.
The half-hour series has been a fairly consistent performer for the network, airing behind Mom, which acts as a reliable lead-in. The late season premiere this time around, though, had raised suspicions that the show was nearing the end of its run.
Life in Pieces follows three generations of the Short family, with each episode telling separate short stories that each focus on a different group of the clan. New episodes resume airing on May 23.

I have said it before, and I will say it again: CBS sucks! This was a very clever show. It was funny and different.

I’m pretty sure that CBS does not have the rights to this show and it’s somewhat expensive to make. I’m pretty sure that’s why they canceled it. I’m sad to see it go.

We looked for the new season in the fall too. Then when it finally came back we were happy. Now sad to hear it cancelled.

I am very disappointed that Life in Pieces is being cancelled. CBS should have have started it in the fall like a normal show. I was greatly anticipating the new season and have enjoyed every episode. This show could have succeeded for many seasons to come.

Very bad news indeed. I loved this show and looked forward to each and every weird-enough-to-be-real character. A great cast all around. CBS will probably fill the spot with yet another cop/medical/ncis procedural, or worse a reality show.
Decisions like this is why I'm cutting the cord and moving to streaming services only.

I sure hope a streaming service will pick up this little gem! The format was unique, the family was “adorkably” lovable, and it was genuinely funny. I discovered it on Hulu and binge watched it. And it was great because anyone in the family could sit down and watch it with me without needed to be caught up on any complex storylines. Well written, well acted, and all-around great show. We’re going to miss you !

This was arguably the funniest show on TV. This was the only show that had both my wife and I laughing out loud while sitting on the couch watching it. What is wrong with this network? Well, maybe there is some hope that a streaming service like Netflix will pick it up and save it.
