The network's latest superhero drama nabs Season 2.
January 7, 2020
The CW announced today that Batwoman has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes in the midst of the drama's freshman run, which has been pulling in decent ratings for the network.
Set in the same universe as The CW's other superhero shows, Batwoman takes place years after Batman mysteriously disappeared from Gotham, leaving the city to fall into despair. When the Alice in Wonderland gang wreaks havoc, Kate Kane returns home to help her city, becoming the dark knight vigilante known as Batwoman.
New Season 1 episodes resume airing on January 19. Look for Season 2 in the fall.

It's still a man's hero gimmick given to a woman. The fact that their non-hero personas are different personalty-wise doesn't change anything. I don't think sexual preference matters either. Bottom line any female version of male heroes is lazy writing and an insult. Bat Woman/Bat Girl is as stupid today as it was in the 1950s. Make a Cat Woman show. The Plopster would check that out. Could have even casted the same talented actress they got for this waste of a show. I got nothing against Ruby Rose. Enjoyed her on Orange is the new Black.

Plop - the original Kate Kane Batwoman was definitely not a female version of Bruce Wayne, but i get the point you are making. The 52 Batwoman wasnt lesbian, wore full military armor, had no issue with killing, and weapon of choice was handguns. She eventually became a hero (like the CW Green Arrow) but was definitely an outlaw vigilante at the beginning.

So much no... I couldn't get through one episode. It didn't get renewed because it was good.

Dumb show, dumber premise. The whole female versions of male superheroes thing is beyond stupid. Now before ya'll "woke" peeps jump on The Plopster, let me explain. I am fine with female superheroes. Give us more! But give them their own gimmicks. Characters like Super Girl, Bat Woman, Spider Girl, She-Hulk, Red She-Hulk (yeah even Red She-Hulk is a thing) are all actually an insult to women. Its like saying "women aren't worth the time to come up with new ideas for, so we will give them the same gimmick as an existing man hero. Really? Characters like Wonder Woman, Storm, Jean Grey, Cat Woman and others with original gimmicks are awesome. Give us more of those. Squirrel Girl can be a show.. I know that's Marvel and not DC, but you get the point.

Im conflicted on this one - by far the worse of the Arrowverse, i had real hopes for the gritty return to the first seasons of Arrow with an anti-Batman character from the comics. Instead its become a kid-gloves superhero version the the LWord. Alice is not vicious enough to be Fem-Joker and Kate is not violent/conflicted (or trained enough) to be the Batwoman i remember reading. Ill watch season 2 in hopes they correct the steer of the ship, but im really struggling with this one...

Clearly the cw could care less about ratings. This show is bar none the worst thing on tv right now
