The superhero drama extends its debut run.
October 25, 2019
The CW announced today that Batwoman has been given a back-order of nine episodes to bring its total to 22 - a full season's worth. The good news comes three weeks into the superhero drama's run, which has been pulling in decent ratings for the network.
Set in the same universe as The CW's other superhero shows, Batwoman takes place years after Batman mysteriously disappeared from Gotham, leaving the city to fall into despair. When the Alice in Wonderland gang wreaks havoc, Kate Kane returns home to help her city, becoming the dark knight vigilante known as Batwoman.

You do realize that giving her a romantic life is different than focusing the entire show around her sexuality, right? Or would you say that every show where a man flirts with a woman or has an ex-girlfriend is driven with the sole purpose of letting everyone know that man is heterosexual?

This entire show is driven with the intention of letting everyone know she is homosexual. Honestly, nobody cares. When you have to make a series mainly about the main characters' sexuality instead of the trials and tribulations of being a superhero is when you have a problem. This all agenda driven.
Anyone who reads comics knows Batwoman is a lesbian and was hardly made mention of throughout her storylines opposed to this pile of crap that wants to remind you ever ten minutes.

Happy for a full season of this. I'm enjoying each new episode whereas I quickly got tired of the other DC series except for Swamp Thing which I also enjoyed.

Batwomen doesn't work, not in the comics and not in this boring series..... 4 episodes in there is just nothing to watch or be interested in. I'm not interested in the lesbian action or dialogue/story.
Ruby Rose is a beautiful women, no doubt.
But she is so the wrong person for this role, way too small a frame and stature to really pull this off. Someone like...Adrianne Palicki would have been a far better choice.
Her costume (sorry costumes) are ugly, (a beautiful women and you make her ugly, buried in rubber), there is no story, no arch. Purchase a few card board cut-outs and save on actor's salary, believe me we won't notice.
Prediction..... canned at Season 1 as an epic fail, I can't believe it’s got a full season run.

Yeah, she has an ex. Who happens to be a girl. That's really making her sexuality the focus on the show, obviously. About as much as Supernatural is driven by Sam's heterosexuality (remember, in the first episode, his girlfriend was killed and he wants to avenge her!)

.. see the problem isn't her sexuality.. the problem is the show is WRITTEN to make her sexuality a primary "character" basically. Batman et all, with straight characters have never focused on the sexual relations of the hero as a primary storyline. Yes, there's some cursory romance i.e. Superman and Lois Lane, or Peter Parker and MJ.. but it's never been the driving factor.. what I saw of Batwoman was the opposite. The driving factor appeared to me to be her romance with another woman.. that's why she put on the suit.. that's why she's doing what she's doing. It's bad writing. A character that is well acted with storylines that are intriguing and engaging.. then I don't give two shits about the character's sexuality. It IS possible to write good characters that simply happen to be gay... Raymond Holt on Brooklyn 99, Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn 99 to a degree, Mitch and Cam on Modern Family, Andrew on The Walking Dead - all solid characters whose sexuality is NOT the staple of every storyline involving them. Batwoman.. just isn't good and unfortunately because they shoehorned the LGBT aspect into it, that's what mis-guided supporters will claim dissenters are objecting to.. that is not always the case. Garbage is garbage whether it's straight garbage or gay garbage. But what do I know CW also runs Black Lightning, now on its 4th season.. and I can't see how it made it past 3 episodes

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS "I LOVE BATWOMAN!"

Just like in the comics this character is gay that being said it's not that or the pc stuff that is the problem here.its simply that the show isn't good.rose clearly cant act and the girl playing alive is way over the top .the cgc looks like its from 1996.but as usual the cw must not care about ratings are fan feedback they will just double down on a show that's obviously a failure. The cw as a whole is bar none the worst network on tvp

Now I know why I never watched it. Then again, if I had to make a choice between batgirl and and Robin, ...
