The veteran drama ends after seven seasons.
February 4, 2020
Showtime announced today that Ray Donovan has completed its run and will not return for Season 8. The news comes two weeks after the long-running drama's Season 7 finale on January 19, which now serves as its series ender.
The news was somewhat unexpected given the show's continued solid performance, but at last month's TCA, Gary Levine, the cable network's co-president of Entertainment, commented that he thought it was nearing the end of its run. Many interpreted that as a signal that a final eighth season would be ordered, but obviously that was not the case.
Ray Donovan stars Liev Schreiber as the titular character, who does the dirty work for some of Los Angeles' most-powerful figures. As their go-to guy, he makes the problems of the city's elite celebrities, athletes, and businessmen disappear.

I am disappointed that it is not coming back. That being said, I don't think the show could have ended any other way. The Donovan family is always in chaos, so I feel it ended appropriately.

This is shocking. Due to the backlash they may reconsider and do a proper ending but if not I am in disbelief right now. I suppose most characters got a decent ending but it didn't really feel like an end... Plopster confused....

Darn--I thought they would head back to LA and Bridget starts to learn how to be a fixer...she shows she tough and can be like her father. I didn't like them being in NYC.

Screw your paying customers right Showtime? You could of given it one last short season to properly end a 7 YEAR series with a continuous story...or maybe even a 2 hour series finale episode. But nah, why bother. Screw em, not like there's other services where they can they pay money to see good quality programming.....oh wait! Screw YOU Showtime!

I have loved Ray Donovan since the show started. And I am very disappointed that the series has been cancelled with no proper ending. We need to see closure for Ray, Mickey, Terry, Bunchy, Darryl and the rest of them. There needs to be at least a 2 hr show to end it.
