The veteran cop drama to end after 10 years on the air.
February 28, 2020
CBS announced today, somewhat surprisingly, that after 10 seasons Hawaii Five-0 is coming to an end. The sad news arrives with just a handful of episodes remaining in the rebooted drama's now-final season.
Ranking as the network's current fourth-longest-running drama, the cop series has been a fairly reliable Friday night staple, where it has been airing for the past six years. A re-imagining of the classic police procedural that aired from 1968 to 1980, Hawaii Five-0 follows Officer Steve McGarrett, who has returned to Hawaii to join up with Danny Williams as part of an elite branch of the Hawaii Police Force.
With such short notice, it is not clear if the series will end with a proper finale. The network has slated Friday, April 3 for the final episodes to air as part of a 2-hour closer. The 10-season run for this reboot of Hawaii Five-0 was impressive, but it ultimately failed to outlast the original, which ran for 12 seasons.

Been a loyal watcher since the first episode and will admit that it has been losing it's luster the last couple of seasons. However I was ready to quit after the ridiculous, out of left field episode with the dog having PTSD and Danny's dream girl dying in a completely unbelievable car accident. Why do writers have to come up with such outlandish episodes? So maybe it is time to say goodbye.

Saying isn't so! The end of an era! I am going to miss this show! All the good show are ending and all the crappy ones are still on the air.

Good show was as good as the original. Serious but also campy in its crazy plots just like the Jack Lord version. One black eye for me was how they did Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park dirty on how they fired them - ridiculous move. Also Danny's hair this year ... WTF man, are you having a mid life crisis?

I used to love this show, but the last few seasons it was getting a little repetitive. Plus the Danny/Steve banter was getting a little silly.

They better end this correctly! So sick of watching series for years and having no closure!

I'm a fan of the show but I'm not sure after 12 years "cancelled" is correct word that should be used. All things come to an end, 12 years is a long time!

I watched two episodes over the years and that was enough. I thought it was ok but not worthy of a regular watch. Possibly better than those shows that just got 3 year renewals, based on my quite limited observations.

I watched the show; I didn't like the show much, but there wasn't anything else on in its time-slot I liked. I look forward and hope to see something else I'll like better to replace it.
I'm a harsh grader and there are other shows I watch but don't like much (e.g. NCIS: Los Angeles).
