No Season 2 for the sci-fi drama.

Word is out that Emergence has been cancelled by ABC after one season. The sad news comes as the network announced its lineup for the 2020-2021 season. The move was not totally unexpected though, as the sci-fi drama failed to draw a significant audience.
Emergence follows recently-divorced police chief Jo Evans, who takes in a mysterious young girl she finds near the site of a mysterious accident. With the child having no memory of what happened to her, the resulting investigation draws Jo into a conspiracy that runs deeper than she could have imagined.

I am sad to see this show cancelled. I really like the lead actress, she was on Supernatural. I was curious to see what would happen next. Who knows, maybe there are aliens living among us and they had the show cancelled because it go too close to the truth!

Once again ABC screwed us over!! cancelling another wonderful scripted show to show us another crappy and over done reality tv series. Maybe if ABC wasnt scared of having a strong powerful female lead in a show and sexist hate filled men filiming behind the scenes this show could have gone on. Maybe another network could pick up it and everyone would love having it back!!

Same old unfortunately. The 2019/20 season has been the worst in years. Unless of course you wanna watch nothing else but police/law shows all the time. But then the "regular" networks keep whining about people going over to the streaming services ...

Except for Flash, Green arrow, Supergirl, Gotham, legends of tomorrow, expanse, magicians, doctor who, game of thrones, lab rats, the Thunderman, the librarians, stranger things, beauty and the beast, walking dead, fear the walking dead, teen Wolf, the originals, vampire diaries, true blood, or supernatural.
Except for that long list no one last longer than a season.

What part of they actually aired the show do people not understand as giving it a chance. Letting it actually be viewed on TV is giving it a chance. This just goes to show how people no longer have any idea of how things work. You get a pilot episode it's viewed. If it makes the cut it gets green lit. After it's green lit it goes to production and hopefully aired. If it's aired it's given a chance. Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good.

@Andrew Arthur Dawson. So you must live in a time and space where CW and SCIFI channels don't exist. Maybe when writers start making shows with premises that are actually good maybe they won't get cancelled.
