The veteran reality series ends after 31 years.

It is being reported that Paramount Network has cancelled Cops. The news is not a complete surprise, as the show had already been pulled from the air in the wake of the George Floyd's death and the ensuing protests against police brutality.
One of the first ever reality-based television shows, Cops premiered in 1989 on Fox where it aired for 24 years before being cancelled. But it wasn't long until the series was revived by Spike TV, now known as Paramount Network. The show had been scheduled to run longer than the 32 seasons it will now stop at, but its 33rd season - originally slated for a debut yesterday - will likely never see the light of day.
With no host or narration, Cops depends completely on the police officers and the footage shot to capture each story as it unfolds. Over the course of its time on the air, the series drew consistent viewership and regularly won its time slot on Saturday nights.

If you are wondering about Oprah you should have watched any of the 12+ discovery networks which showed her special. Or is hard to see that with your eyes closed to the problem.
@passenger - Yeah that's the same lame excuse some white person always states and uses. And it's not true as well as your sentence doesn't make sense because it's not written in English. Also, just because a black person has wealth doesn't mean they aren't or weren't targets of law enforcement. And that's really the whole point. So thank you for that.
And to the person who said they have to watch COPS because where they live doesn't have drama, you're an idiot. But again another person who proves the point I was making about people watching so they can feel better about themselves.
And to notme Not sure what Nikki Minaj has to do with anything, but ok. Just another dumb comment. Was anyone killed by her song? My ears maybe but I don't think anyone lost their lives because of listening to her. What's your point dummy?
Next up . . . all of the CSI, Law and Order, and anything else that smells of law enforcement.
Otherwise, I didn't watch the show. After work (as a cop), this was not the tv show I'd watch after doing the job all day.
